Gotham is overseeing construction of 150 Lafayette Street, a complex reconfiguration of an existing 1915 building that includes the addition of 14 floors of new construction. When complete, the building will be home to the highly anticipated SoHo Mondrian boutique hotel in Manhattan’s Chinatown, to be operated by Morgan’s Hotel Group. The 141,550 sf hotel will feature 270 rooms spread over 23 floors, and will house significant hospitality space signature to the Morgan’s brand, including two bar lounges, a 2-floor destination restaurant with terraced dining areas, outdoor entertainment space, corporate meeting rooms, and a fitness center. The existing 12 story riveted steel structure is undergoing partial demolition and structural reinforcement to support the new addition of steel and concrete on metal deck. The new tower will be clad in a fritted window wall system. Four new high speed elevators will be installed in the new reinforced concrete core area.
