Gotham served as general contactor for this 222-unit, 2-building rental complex located along Tenth Avenue. A 12-story building is located at the corner of W. 54th Street, and a 6-story building resides mid-block on W. 55th Street. The buildings are connected by a landscaped garden. 54th Street is a mixed-use building, combining apartments on floors 3-12, 14,000 sf of retail, a parking garage, gym, lounge, and sun terrace. Both buildings are concrete superstructures with masonry exterior walls. Integral to the project was the construction of a sophisticated multi-layered lobby design in the main building which features a 20’ tiered ceiling, and floating and sub floors that juxtapose diametric materials. A floating terrazzo floor seamlessly molds into the permanent lobby furniture and concierge desk. The sub-floor has the appearance of sandblasted aggregate stone that rises vertically onto the south wall to form a cascading water wall.
