The Langston is a 330,000 sf, 180-unit condominium project that represents the latest work in Gotham’s long history of construction in historic Harlem, and is the first substantial mixed-use, luxury residence to arrive along the 145th Street corridor. Adhering to more traditional building systems, the superstructure is brick and plank baring wall construction. The apartments feature three levels of finishes which presented a unique challenge to the installation schedule and phasing of trades. The exterior perimeter of the top two floors consist of penthouse duplexes, each featuring 18 foot glass window walls, a dual entry door system, and private terraces. The project also includes over 30,000 sf of ground and mezzanine level retail, home to a Starbucks, 18,000 sf NY Sports Club, and Bank of America retail branch. As part of the Housing Preservation and Development Cornerstone Program, 68 Bradhurst Avenue represents the second in a series of three residential projects in Harlem which Gotham Construction has been designated as builder.
