In preparation for the construction of Briger Pavilion, a new 127-bed acute-care wing expansion of the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, Gotham serving as general contractor, executed a series of wide ranging renovations to the existing medical facility while the hospital maintained fully functional operations. Work for this client included an all new ambulatory surgical center and renal dialysis ward that were created in existing wings of the hospital; relocation of the emergency room to temporary quarters to facilitate the expansion; and an energy center building that was constructed in the middle of the medical campus between two existing buildings. Building of this energy center included raising the roof of an existing building to accommodate new boilers.
