As general contractor, Gotham is overseeing construction of 150 Lafayette Street, a complex partial gut-rehab conversion of an existing 1915 building that combines new construction that will soon be the highly anticipated Mondrian SoHo boutique hotel in Manhattan’s Chinatown, to be operated by Morgan’s Hotel Group. The hotel will feature 270 rooms spread over 28 floors, and will house significant hospitality space signature to the Morgan’s brand, including two bar/lounges, a 2-floor destination restaurant with terraced dining areas, outdoor entertainment space, as well as hotel ballroom, corporate meeting rooms, and fitness center.  The existing 12 story load bearing brick and riveted steel structure is undergoing partial demolition and structural reinforcement to support 13 new stories of steel and concrete on metal deck.  The new tower will be clad in a fritted window wall system. Four new high speed elevators will be installed in the new core area.
